Ballad For Rose

I saw the girl, her back to me
I wondered at her hair
her voice was sweet and I could see
a beauty very rare
Then standing there in frozen stare
I wondered at her name
my tongue was dry, my heart in prayer
Hearts dancing in the flame

I met the girl, and I could see
her beauty and her flair
would force a knight onto his knee
his heart would be laid bare
then drawing me into her lair
conquered by this dame
her smile and eyes a lethal snare
Hearts dancing in the flame

Like drowning mortals in the sea
I long for her like air
what would my soul without her be
for death I do not care
my sweetheart whom I have to share
caught in this passion game
our souls stripped bare, but masks we wear
Hearts dancing in the flame
